NT Live returns in MAY – ‘Hot Priest’ Andrew Scott back-to-back with Queen Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s Fleabag
- April 28, 2025

The month of May will see two special event encores hit Australian screens direct from the National Theatre in London. Our ‘Hot Priest’ Andrew Scott will be encoring in Vanya, back-to-back with Queen, Phoebe Waller-Bridge in Fleabag.
Andrew Scott (Fleabag) brings multiple characters to life in Simon Stephens’ (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time) radical new version of Chekhov’s classic black-comedy Uncle Vanya.
Hopes, dreams, and regrets are thrust into sharp focus in this one-man adaptation which explores the complexities of human emotions.
★★★★★ ‘Unquestionably theatre at its best’ – Broadway World
NT Live: Vanya will be screening nationally from May 15

Written and performed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag, Killing Eve) and directed by Vicky Jones, Fleabag is a rip-roaring look at some sort of woman living her sort of life. Following a box-office record-breaking run in cinemas in 2019, the one-woman show returns for a final special event screenings this May.
Fleabag may seem oversexed, emotionally unfiltered and self-obsessed, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. With family and friendships under strain and a guinea pig café struggling to keep afloat, Fleabag suddenly finds herself with nothing to lose.
★★★★★ ‘A legitimately hilarious show.’ – The New Yorker
The hilarious, award-winning play that inspired the BBC’s hit TV series Fleabag, will be screening across Australia from May 29.
